Front/Rear axle Option Codes - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I just looked at mine, and this is what I saw, does anyone have something similar

I have both front and rear axle options on mine

79510AA Positract RR Axle
79501BB Positract Frt Axle

options on my Glove Box
What exactly does that mean, not lockers right?

Is there a List of option codes out there?

You should have positraction on both unless something has been changed. These are not lockers. My posi front end had a metal tag on one of the bolt holes as well. You could jack it up and rotate the tires to see if it still is posi as well.

I think my lockers are listed as "no spin" on glove box, but I don't have one in front of me. They are all the Eaton/Corporate rear end.

The 12-bolt rears have either an Eaton positracion unit or a GM positraction unit based on the Eaton. Both are friction disk limited slip units. That is what you have in the rear of your '68.

I don't know what they put in the Dana 44 in the front of your '68. I would bet it would be the same style. GM was pretty good about calling that type of limited slip differential a "positraction", and lockers something else (No SPIN, etc..).
