My 67 small window
I thought Id post up some pics of my 67! As you can tell its been sitting here for quite a while. I would guess about 5 years. This was my dads truck, he passed away when I was a kid. After he passed away my grandfather kept the truck up and drove it occasionaly, when I turned 16 it became mine. It was my daily driver when I was in high school and I loved it! I remember washing it just about every day! Well its been killing me so Im going to have to get it running again and clean it up. Ive got big plans for this truck, but some of those will have to wait untill I finish college. Recently I have been trying to locate a swb stepside bed so that I can go ahead and shorten the frame and make it a swb truck. As soon as I get a chance Im going to clean it up and try to buff the paint out. Im hoping it will still shine up good once I remove the oxidation. Its got a little rust in rood and drivers side rocker panel that I also need to fix. Anyways let me know what you think. Thanks

Re: My 67 small window
I think it needs a little air in the tires.
Nice truck, though, just give it a little love, then drive the thing!

Re: My 67 small window
Thanks for all the compliments guys! Thats makes me want to get it running even more! Ill will definetly post some more pics up as soon as I get it cleaned up. The interior was redone about 14 years ago, and is still in decent shape aside from being filthy from setting up for so long. The truck was originally a gold/tan color, and when the truck was painted, the door jambs were painted red, but inside the cab, wasnt painted, the roof and dash are still tan, The seat was redone in tan cloth, and the carpet is tan. It all looks good, but its filthy. Im hoping it looks good again after a good vacuum and shampooing. Ill take some interior pics tomorrow and post them up.
Like I said Ive got huge plans for it, but some of those will have to wait untill after collage, but for now Id like to get it cleaned up and running good, Ill will probably have to replace the carb, because it has never acted right, as soon as I find an affordable stepside swb bed Im going to convert it to a swb truck. Anyone have anyidea what I might could sell the lwb bed for? Id also like to lower it 4/6", but with that much drop will requiring new spindles, springs, and disk brake conversion, I will probably settle for a 2/4" drop. Ill just cut the front springs, and use the jeep tj springs in the rear. If anyone has any ideas please throw them my way! Thanks |

Re: My 67 small window
Can anyone tell from the pic if this is a 327 or a 283? I had always thought it to be a 283/powerglide truck, but after talking with my grandfather today, hes not sure if its a 327 or 283. Thanks

Re: My 67 small window
I beleve the 283 had the oil filler tube sticking up from the front of the intake manafold, but you should be able to get the block stamp from the passanger side of the block just in front of the head, post it and someone on this forum can interperet it.

Re: My 67 small window
if you're going to put a stepside bed on it why not just keep it long fleet side? I would. Looks nice, just needs a little buffing.

That paint looks like it will rub out nice. Did you check the SPID for the motor size?

Ya know i will have to agree, the truck looks rust free and straight, the paint looks like it will buff up nicely too, it is all origional too so if it was mine.... ..... I'd say keep it origional. Yea i know its your truck, so do what ya want.
