Battery drain

Something is draining my battery I put a new battery in and two days later my battery is dead. What could be causing this? I don't have a radio. My wires are all a mess I need to rewire the entire truck. But is there some way to locate what is draining my battery? This just started this week never had a problem before some something changed.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Battery drain

do you have a test light? If so you take the negative cable off and use the test light as a connector from the negative cable to negative battery post. If there is a draw the lamp will light up. To find the draw start unplugging fuses or disconnecting circuits til the light goes out.

Hope this helps

Re: Battery drain

The aforementioned testlight method works very well, BUT sometimes if the draw is thru a relay you need to have the test light connected before disconecting the ground to keep the relay in the loop. (If you have the stock alternator it is prolly a stuck contact in the regulator)
