Hey guys,

I'm Brian Lohnes, the editor of BangShift.com and more importantly the owner of Goliath!

The truck is a 1966 C50 that sports a 292ci I6, SM420 transmission, and a 16,000lb rear axle filled with 7.20:1 gears. It'll go 60mph on a good day, it is also capable of pulling my whole neighborhood down the street as well.

I've had the truck for about a year. The bed is a custom made box that someone fabricated out of 1/4" steel plate and then welded '66 bed sides onto. It was very well done and looks factory, even though there was never such thing as a C50 pickup truck.

I'm a newb here so I don't want to break any rules by smashing a ton of links up, but I have been documenting the process of putting the truck back together into running order since I got it.

Feel free to ask any questions about the big guy. I think the truck is totally boss and have really enjoyed wrenching on it. I still have some stuff to square away, but it runs and drives really well since I have gone though the motor and other systems.

Is this Dino's old C50? It looks just like his with the same rear wheelwell flares.

Thanks for the good words guys. I really love this truck and am excited to cruise it in the Spring. It looks like a giant Tonka toy, which is what I really like about it.

The downside is that it rides like a hay wagon, but I knew that going in, so I'm cool with it!

I have about half a million photos of the beast in various stages of repair. I'll throw some random ones up.

Here's a front brake line repair from a few weeks ago. The hard line runs from the driver's side, all the way to the front of the frame, across, and over to the passenger side wheel. Is this the way all the 60-66 trucks do it or just the big guys?

Oh, and yeah, when I was rebuilding the engine (with the block in the frame) I used the tailgate of my F250 as a work stand. I'd back the truck up to Goliath, fold the tail gate down and work on the motor that way.

Brian, Hope you don't mind that I put your very cool truck up on the board. I was stumbling around the internets & for it on BangShift. I think the big truck need a bit more showing off.

Do you have any pictures on how you made the bed? Does the bed work as a dump bed? Also where is your gas tank?

Blue, I didn't make the bed, I bought the truck with the bed on it. It does not work as a dump but I have been mulling that project for next winter. I wouldn't take much to transform it into a dump action and that would rule.

The gas tank is in the factory location which is behind the seat.

Here's a shot of the inside of the bed. There are two plates welded together to make the floor and a couple more for the sides. The bed sides are welded to the tops of the plates. Simple, but cool!
