What would you do??
Got a decent 72 Air cab L/W 2wd that has recently had the engine and trans pulled out and sold. I traded for it without an engine and trans but I have a bunch of options when it comes to what to put back in it. Keep in mind this will probably not be a keeper, as I still have my first truck, a 69 l/w that is gonna get the works soon, so the 72 will probably get sold to help finace the 69.Also, I have the capabilities and knowledge to do any one of these so none of them will be any more difficult for me than the other. So if you were shopping for a semi done truck, what would you rather see under the hood??

Re: What would you do??
Toss a decent running small block and a th350 in it. Easy to hop up from there, and cheap enough that you should be able to recover some of the investment made in adding the running gear.

Re: What would you do??
Thats the thing, there would be virtually no investment short of fluids and hoses as I have all of these combos sitting around(along with a ton of other stuff!!) Thats what makes the decision tough for me. Its not really a money invested problem this time, more of a profit expepcted at sale thang!

Re: What would you do??
Most people expect to see a 350/350 in a regular ol' truck when they go check it out. Why disappoint them?
You might turn some potential buyers off with anything "exotic". Edited to ask: What's the exterior like? Is it a run of the mill plain jane, an old beater, something nice? Last edited by 69 Okie Truck; 12-20-2010 at 10:46 AM. |

350/350....
You are in Oklahoma you know. Wouldn't wanna scare off the customer with any of those new-fangled motor styles under 30 years old. Might scare the cows and cause em to stampede. (said with tongue firmly planted in cheek) |

Re: What would you do??
Unless you are planning a full on build for this thing to sell it, I'd toss in the "run of the mill SBC" and unload it. No sense in wasting any of the other combos on something you aren't planning on going further on.

Re: What would you do??
I agree, 350/350. Everyone knows what they're dealing with and it comes across as unmolested. P.O. tinkering can really scare me off.
