Kickdown cable for carb
I am having some problems finishing up the super. It seems that I my kickdown cable is to long for my truck.... We have went to GM and picked up another one... but it is also to long. My truck has around 6 inches of lift on it.... and was wondering if you guys know if they sell custom braided cables or regular cables that would be right??? Companies... etc. Thanks Trevor

Is this for the transmission kickdown, or are you talking about the throttle cable?......I've had alot of trouble trying to find a correct lenght throttle cable for my 72 K-10, but the trans kickdown shouldn't change length with lift because the tranny is bolted to the engine and will not be affected by a body lift or anything. It should route up the RH side of the tranny, follow the bell housing bolts and snap into a bracket behind the carb. Hope this helps.

Are you using and aftermarket carb and intake with the factory kick down bracket? You can get an adjustable kickdown bracket that has about an inch of adjustability in it. Edelbrock Part # 8036. Is your kickdown cable adjusted to it's shortest length?

I used Lokar products for both throttle and kick down cables. Both can be cut to length to fit plus they look real good. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your truck!
