when i owned a truck I could find them all day long for $1,000 here and $1,500 there... and when i sell mine and and looking for one none can be found... all i want is a 4x4 for christmas!!!

A long time ago I sold a very nice '66 Corvette for a few thousand bucks, the going rate at the time. Always figured to pick up another one some day.

I think you'll find a truck long before I find a cheap mid-year Corvette...

Maybe get a pic of the title before you drive out there. I've heard stories of people selling stuff on craigs that wasn't theirs, however, i think it was more stuff that doesn't have titles, like skidsteers. You should be safer with a vehicle.

Even if it doesn't run this would still be a good deal if not rusty. Odds of not rusty should be good for a NV truck. Hope you get it.

I was in that predicament too. I wanted a nice winter 4x4. I love K-5's but dont need another project. I dont have 15k to buy a cherry one either, but my budget was a bit higher than yours
I love Jeeps too -- wound up buying an '01 Jeep Sport with a 6 cylinder and a Dana 44 for 6k from a local shop that sells tons of 4x4 stuff.

Lo and behold, 1 month later, a sweet green 71 K5 is sitting on the lot. I "knew" i couldnt afford it so i didnt bother looking, as i thought it would be a 12-15k unit. today i went back determined to look anyway --- sold on Christmas Eve for $7000. I have a good rapport with the clerk there and he verified it looked better up close than it did from the road and the new owner got a decent deal

I slapped myself on the forehead, as 7k is a price i would have been comfortable with for the right truck. I just said "You snooze, you lose" and jumped back into my little frat boy Jeep and drove home bummed
