WTB..60-66 steering column shaft

Im not sure if they will all cross over, but I have a 66. I swapped to a floor shift column and my steering shaft is worn at the bottom where it goes in the column tube. Anyway...I need a new one....let me know what you have.

Re: WTB..60-66 steering column shaft

The difference could be the standard vs. automatic; although I am not sure why.

Re: WTB..60-66 steering column shaft

Anyone ever heard of cutting and "bondoing" a column shift to convert to a floor shift? If so how well does it work, what should I look out for? I want a tilt steering column for my 61' but it seems all the junk yards here in my town have 3 on the tree columns, yeah "wa wa". Thanks

Re: WTB..60-66 steering column shaft

You should be able to find a tilt column from a van up to 1978 I believe for a direct bolt in.

i have a tilt column that i would swap even for a 65 column and wheel. its collapsible at the pump so you can adjust how close you want it in the cab.

Have you thought about taking your old one to machine shop- having them weld and then turn down the wear spot?

Racedaddy, Sent you a PM on the column, wondering if you have an Automatic brake pedal and/or Steering Wheel. Working on a 65 Suburban.
