Brake Light Illuminated

1971 C10 with power dics. What can cause the brake light to illuminate? Is it brake pedal travel or other?

Have to pump the brakes to get the truck to stop. Not my truck. I'm trying to determine what to look at first, second, etc.

Thanks!

Re: Brake Light Illuminated

Thanks. The owner thought it might be because he has a cam with a lot of duration giving him very low (5") vacuum. I think that would only cause him to lose the power assist like when the engine is not running on a car with power brakes and the brakes are very hard.

Re: Brake Light Illuminated

air in the lines.
The pumping the pedal also points this direction.
