Build Thread - 72 C30 The Hauler
Hi All,
First off, wow! What an amazing site! Great to see everyone coming together to share knowledge and insight! This site has been a key part of my build and I don't know what I would have done without it! I've been a member since 2008 so I thought it was time to start a build thread. . . here it goes. . . Here's what I started with. . . -72 GMC 3500 cab and chassis -350 SB -Originally used as a water tanker truck for a small town fire department Purchased it back in July 2008. Here are some pics of what I started with:

Re: Build Thread - 72 C30 The Hauler
Here are some more pictures of progress since 2008.
-Sandblasted Frame -Painted Frame with POR-15! -Re-assembled chassis and front end (all sandblasted and POR-15) -Swaped in a 14 Dually Cab and Chassis rear end and bolted on a rear Dual Rear Wheel Disc Brake kit from BlackHawkCustoms. Rear end was completely dissassembled, sandblasted, POR-15, and then rebuild with new bearing, seals, etc. -A picture of the chassis with the cab removed that should have been posted earlier!

Some more pics of the progress!
- Engine Rebuild: 4 bolt main, SB 350, new rotating assembly from sealed power, comp cams cam, block painted with POR-15 engine enamel. -72 cab which I will be using to replace the original cab which had significant amounts of cust in all the usual places. The donor truck was totalled and taken off the road in 1982. In the late eighties new rockers and cab corners were welded in and the cab has been sitting up on blocks ever since. I picked in up a few months ago. -Rebuilt rad and installed engine with Edelbrock performer heads installed. Plan forward -Power steering swap (originally had manual stearing). -March performance pulley install -Complete the top end of the the engine rebuild -Installation of a rear mount gas tank (possibly the blazer tank swap form LMC?)
