I have a '72 but I have some good stainless windshield trim I pulled from a '70 GMC. Can I just buy the windshield gasket for a 1970 and use my '72 glass and the '70 trim?

Also, who sells the best fitting gasket?

I don't know who has the best gasket, but you can put the 70 seal into your 72.

Make sure when you buy a new gasket you get one that is for the trim package. Some gaskets are not cut out for it.

Have heard that "Softseal" makes the best replacement gasket. Believe they have a website. You want the delux gasket made for the stainless trim. Installing it can be a b~!@#! Good luck

I am prepared for the worst...I have had good luck with a piece of rope and soapy water in the past so I do not forsee any problems.

The liquid dish soap works good, the problem may be with the trim. Make sure it stays in the groove. Takes patience!

IT'S NOT THAT TOUGH. JUST TAKE YOUR TIME, & DON'T FORCE IT. THERE NO MAGIC INVOLVED. I USE STRIPS OF MASKING TAPE TO HOLD THE TRIM IN THE GASKET, & SPRAY SILCONE IN THE GROOVE & W/S LIP.

Maybe you already know this, but some of that window trim has a deeper channel on it, so you have to order the window gasket for the right depth of trim you have. I made that mistake, and had to reorder the gasket.
