Umm is this normal??

I just set my truck back on its feet after installing the new drop spindles. Replaced the ball joints as well! my wheel seems to be out of camber??? both sides look about the same only one tire is a little flat? Is it supposed to be like that?
???????? Is it possible that the wheels have always been that way but the ball joints were so bad that the compensated for it??

Re: Umm is this normal??

I've been modifying suspensions for a long time and I always stand by you should always align the front end after replacing any suspension parts which affect the geometry - control arms/ball joints/springs etc can all affect it by some degree, whether they are old and worn out or new parts etc. So it seems normal to me for it to be out that much.

Re: Umm is this normal??

probably have stacks of shims in there, that are not needed when using drop spindles? get it aligned.

Re: Umm is this normal??

Is it that far to the nearest automotive shop? lol

Lots of people drive with vehicles not aligned for years on end. It typically just ruins your tires and wears out certain suspension parts sooner. You truck wont fall apart while you're driving..as long as you bolted everything back together properly

Re: Umm is this normal??

your tires will probably be junk after 55 miles. If you must, inflate them a little over the max recomended PSI, this will make the center taller than the edges and you'll ride on 1/2 the thread instead of just the edge.

Re: Umm is this normal??

pull enough shims till the tire looks 90* to the ground. then test drive, and get it to the shop

Re: Umm is this normal??

first, have you rolled the truck back and forward to "unload" the suspension and let it rest? It should drop like 1/2" and some negative camber should go away too.

Re: Umm is this normal??

You said 55 round trip. That means 27.5 one way correct? The drive back will be after the alignment.

I guess it's just me,... but that looks way off.
Got any close up pics of the suspension?
Drop spindles normally don't throw the camber off that far.

Re: Umm is this normal??

Thanks for the second picture. That really clarifies it

I agree with Lolife. Maybe it was way off before and not noticed? Were you driving it a lot? Make sure everything is seated correctly. If it has shims try changing them some.
