DJM dropspindles and springs; How's the ride and handling?
I found out my truck has had it's front springs either cut or torched pretty severely....
It's pretty much riding on it's bumpstops. Only good thing; it has Bell Tech Nitro Drop Shocks. I'm thinking about ordering the DJM 3"dropspindles with the 2" dropsprings How would this DJM setup handle?!?

Re: DJM dropspindles and springs; How's the rinde and handling?
I have 2" Drop springs with half a coil cut off, and 2.5" Drop spindles. It rides great im running belltech street performance shocks. The handling is awesome, even with the 20s that I had on it. I can go around corners doing 60 that I wouldnt have even attempted before at stock hieght going 30. The handling also has alot to do with the tires. I ran Nitto INVO and they are not cheap

new spindles and springs will make a world of difference, that must ride pretty rough sitting on the bumpstops.

Yeah man...cut the tapered part of the bump stop off, and get it down an inch more!!!
I have 2.5" summit racing spindles and 2" DJM springs. It rides nice and smoove...I have some big ol 235/75/15 goodyear wrangler radials on the front, and there's about 3" of clearance to the fenderliner. I trimed the tapered part of the bumpstop off, so the distance from bump to stop is about 3" too... On gnarly ass bumps, I either hit the bumpstop, or fender liner, and the truck pulls a little to the side of the dip...but frankly...I think it looks cool, so I just have to learn to slow down |

Here is my old '80 with 2.5" spindles and a half coil cut out, flip kit in the rear. 3/4 ton swaybar up front, rode like a dream.

BowtieOrgre,
Did you get that drop with cutting the original spring just half a coil?!? Looks like it's got way more drop than that.... Sure is a shame jou sold that truck. Looked good!! BTW I have a line on a new set 2" Bell Tech springs. I'll use those with the 2.5 drop spindles. That should make a night and day difference!!!

Yeah that was just half a coil on 30 year old stock springs. I also had an '86 with just 3" drop springs. Not nearly as low as the '80. I think I had about 5" or so in the front with the burnt orange metallic beauty.

I wish my truck still had bumpstops (working up a way to mount them since the brackets were cut off... Hitting the bumpstops sucks, but it's better than metal on metal. Although on the fun side, you should see people jump when they hear the "BANG!"
