SBC cam question
Hey yall, I am putting together a motor for my K-5 Blazer but I need some help determining a cam. It will mostly be used as a wide open mud truck without much street driving...
drivetrain is a 350 4 bolt main from a corvette with a th350 trans, The motor is mainly stock but will recieve a torker 2 intake (it was free), headers, and a holley double pump. What would be a good cam for this combo? I wouldnt mind it having some lope, i just dont want to have to fool with a stall converter or changing the valve springs if i can get away with it.

Re: SBC cam question
We need a lot more info on your engine specs. such as compression, what heads, etc.
From reading your post, you aren't going to be able to setup that engine for your intended use as a wide open mud truck, without a stall converter, and not without upgrading the valve springs.

Re: SBC cam question
Well its a basically stock 350 out of a 1981 corvette, so im guessing 8-something compression, and crappy heads. lol Im not looking for race car performance, I just want to build a cheap but fairly stout motor to play around in the mud with. Itll probably get destroyed in a year or so anyways. So, like said im just looking for a cam that will complement the intake, and carb. The rest will remain stock. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: SBC cam question
Well then IMO this is about all the cam you will be able to use in a stock engine without changing anything else.

Re: SBC cam question
Okay, yeah I was lookin at the 1102, and the 1103. What is good/bad about each of these? Would the 1103 even work with my application? thanks for your help.

Re: SBC cam question
With the 1103 you will want to check your valve springs for coil clearance and also your valve spring retainer to valve guide seal clearance.
