How much wight can it Tow ?

Just wondering how much weight my 68 Suburban should be able to pull with out over working it. It has a 327 T400 and 3:73. Looking at pulling a 4000lb camping trailer.

C10 or C20?

If it is a lot, I'd recommend air bag helpers since you are very low already, towing wise.

Sorry it`s a C10 I am going to put 2600 bags in the back in place of the stock coils.

I'm not sure what the limit is, but I think you could pull 4000 lbs just fine. Just make sure your cooling system is in good shape (clean coolant, right antifreeze mix, shroud in place, good fan clutch, 3 row or bigger radiator that's not plugged up, good thermostat, no leaks, etc.) and if you don't have a separate tranny cooler you might consider adding one. Also make sure your tranny filter and fluid and diff fluid are in good shape. Then enjoy the ride!

Re: How much wight can it Tow ?

consider a load leveling hitch to help spread the weight evenly to the front and rear axles...........
