Re: spid list questions

Power steering should be listed as it was not standard on any truck. It has been 40 years, maybe your grandad added the PS 40 years ago and has forgotten about it. Maybe not, but it should be listed if it was from the factory.

Re: spid list questions

I have seen alot of GMC spids that list CST or Cheyenne equipment instead of Sierra or grande, but this is the first time I have seen Sierra Grande and CST

Maybe the PS was dealer installed.

dealer installed is a good theory, but it's just as good as it never got put on the SPID.

Re: spid list questions

suppose it could be dealer installed, im guessin they just forgot to put it on the spid, beings that grandpa ordered the truck and then had to wait for a few months to get it. dosent make since that if they had to build the truck then shipp it to washington state that gm wouldnt just install the parts at the factory.

mabe they forgot to install it though? then the dealer would have to step up and do it. this could have happened without grandpa ever knowing.

Re: spid list questions

On the power steering, my vote is the factory screwed up and forgot it and when the salesman/manager saw it was missing he sent it to the shop and had it put on without telling anyone. Truck then was delivered as ordered and everyone was happy.

this sounds like the logical answer. my mom and dad ordered a 69 CST swb and my mom and i were there when it was taken off the delivery truck. we were looking it over and my mom noticed most of the bed bolts were rolling around in the bed-someone forgot to install all the nuts on the assembly line. my dad made sure the tech doing the pdi checked everything in case something else was forgotten. the salesman said it was more than likely built on a monday morning.

Re: spid list questions

I thought all trucks special ordered other than dealer stock had either DD on the vin plate for 67-69 or an order # printed on the bottom of the spid.
