AND, is that the same for a '73?

Actually, what years are the same?

If I'm reading the book right, under section 7.6365 SWITCH - TRANSMISSION

GM part #1998130 CE, CS models Control Overdrive Kickdown- W/AT400 Trans- OPT - 1970

Pretty much word for word, I find the old books a little hard to read, and look stuff up in. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.

69 & 70 were the same but different than 71 & 72 which were the same. I do not know about 73 and up.

I might be looking at it the wrong way... I have a '73 AT400 (or TH400 or whatever it is) - I guess the switch is a switch but the mounts are for the year/size engine they mount on... correct? or carb type?

(imagine a 72 and think of a 400 tranny mounted behind a 250 - need someway to mount the switch) (not a v8, single barrel carb, etc)

I believe 73 and later are mounted on the throttle linkage under the dash. I used a complete pedal assembly with the switch mounted to it and throttle cable from a square body.

that is correct, in 71 the kickdown switch went on the throttle pedal and it stayed there till 91ish when they stopped installing the TH400
