Yesterday afternoon, we decided the truck needed a new look. After a trip to Advanced Auto for 7 cans of Krylon Rust Tough Semi Flat Enamel (Satin Black) Here's what it looks like 18 hours later (this morning). I'm hoping for lots of sunshine in South Florida this weekend so we can put it all back together.

I like it! Some will have an issue with the spray bomb but I think it looks good and can't beat the price

It isn't ever gonna be a show truck so I put my money in other places. Just want it to be a cool looking daily driver. If it gets bumped or scratched, I won't loose to much sleep over it. After the bumpers, peep mirrors and a few more trim pieces, it'll look pretty sweet.

I looks good. But,you painted the whole truck with only 7 cans? I think I used 3 just to do my hood. That's got to be some thin paint. I have nothing against rattle can except I find it costs more than using a using a paint gun and mixing from a can (and makes my finger hurt

)

Actually Tim, I was surprised it only took 7. My Son did it and and when I took that pic this morning, it covered really good.

He's recently graduated from the University of South Florida (Tampa) and got married so he's looking for work. I'm sure if the job market was right, he'd move to MD in a heartbeat and would paint your truck on the weekend for you, haha

I bought those in Carlisle last year for $40.00 bucks. I sandblasted them and just painted them red while up North then shipped them to Florida (Shipping was around $20 bucks a wheel. So yes it was worth it because they are not plentiful in South Florida. Plus....they were ready to install when I got home)

Im shocked! Im using that same stuff and planning on three coats a panel. Its also taking me closer to 50 hours (about 25 down, 25 to go) to paint it... of course I've got to sand through two layers of paint to get down to the metal before I can even begin painting...

We lightly wet/dry sanded it and then used denatured alcohol and whipped it all down.

I like the rattle can primer look! The red wheels make it stand out. Yo are a man after my own heart. Keep the $$ in your pocket for more pressing issues.

Looks great in flat black, I like the wheels they really set it off without those it wouldn't look right IMO.

I sure hope mine turns out looking that great! I got a little more crome trim and crome wheels though, so a little different. Yah, we tried sanding, paint remover and the stripper pads on the drill and the stipper pads got down to the metal the best. The paint and rust are peppered together from being a farm truck and then they threw a super thick second coat on it so I've got to go down to metal pretty much everywhere.

So this was with 7 cans of spray paint? It is hard to tell from the pics but is the paint even? Curious on how it will wear. I am looking for a flat/matte finish that i can tackle myself.

That's suuuuuuweeeeet! If my body had been worthy, it would look similar to that. Here's a pic that was sent to me, to tease me. It was based on my plans for something similar. It's what made me proclaim to be Old School. Think I still am. This isn't my truck, but it's certainly a goal.

It was the background pic on my laptop desktop.
