LMC Rubber
What is everyones opinion on LMC rubber- weatherstripping.etc. I have been less than thrilled with it .The rear window rubber was too big had a terrible time getting it in am still not thrilled with the way it fits.On the window weatherstripping for the front doors the windows will not roll up without helping it getting the top of the door it rolls up good till it gets to the top edge of the door at that point the rubber appears to sqeeze the glass too tight thus you have to help it get to the top of the door I took it apart so many times today I could do it blindfolded I am hoping it will free up with use I spent about 5 hours today on 1 door. Keep in mind I am no novice at this as I have built and restored VW'S Street Rods etc for myself and others. Just wondering is this a common problem with LMC products or a common complaint with everyone's products my dad say's nothing today is worth a sh#$ LOL .He just did a 64 El Camino for himself and he said the rubber and stuff did not fit worth a sh#$ on it either do not remember what brand it was.

Re: LMC Rubber
LMC = junk. I bought hard brake lines that go to the master cylinder, that curve INTO each other...so instead of the lines making two seperate coils at the master cylinder, they make one big one.

Re: LMC Rubber
I recently purchased Lmc's rubber for my windows on my truck and it didn't fit very well. My vent windows hardly seal but it should work. I don't know if it was just the batch I ordered or what... I don't think anyone else sells the stuff so LMC is really like your only choice.

Re: LMC Rubber
Some of the GM stuff (window run channel) I bought didn't fit worth a flip either. After a couple hours of adjusting the window tracks I can finally roll up my windows without cussing.

Re: LMC Rubber
I bought a lmc windshield gasket and it was junk, way too big and tore easily while trying to install it by a profesional windshield installer. I also wasn't happy with thier packaging, I also bought new wheelwell chrome and they folded it in half to fit in the box.

Re: LMC Rubber
LMC doesn't make anything, just as Goodmark for example and other sellers don't make anything. They just buy stuff and sell it. Whether or not LMC buys stuff of lesser quality is the question. Many grumble about their customer service and stop buying from them.
Did the rubber say made in China? If it did it'll probably deteriorate in a year if the truck lives outside. |

Re: LMC Rubber
I ordered a complete door weather stripping kit from ebay years ago and vent window weather stripping didn't fit very well and deteriorate in a year and my truck was in the garage most of the time so got some from classic parts and no problems with it and they've been on for 3 years

Re: LMC Rubber
Since this thread started I've been looking for a guy on eBay I bought a kit from 6-7 years ago for my S-10. The rubber still looks and functions as new, I'll keep looking.

Re: LMC Rubber
Every LMC rear window or windshield gasket that has every come through my door has been TOO long. I stopped using their products long ago because of that and some other quality issues. A friend showed up the other day for us to put a new windshield in his 70 truck and when he pulled out the LMC box I shuttered. Sure enough...the gasket was too long. I guess after all the returns and complaints they have proven they are really not interested in quality control, good R&D and happy customers! The only thing their cataloge should be used for for is a reference book.
