Cool truck. Propane is cleaner burning than gasoline right? If so that low mileage motor should be in pretty good shape. Wonder what it would get for mpg compared to a gas engine?

back then lots of fleet vehicles and farm vehicles came with the propane option a few government places i worked at most of thier vehicles were propane vehicles 70's vintage
i just saw a 71ford on craigs here that was a propane factory truck

That brings back a lot of good memories for me - my grandfather always bought his trucks with the propane option. If I remember right, the fuel gauge looked identical to gas, but there was a gauge on the propane tank as well. Ran great and for ever between fill ups.

propane gets less MPG and usually costs more to fill. Kinda like e82, it sounds good till you do the math.
It DOES however run MUCH cleaner. I've drained oil with 10,000 miles on a propane truck and it was still gold colored as it came out the pan. |
