to line-x, or not to line-x. that is the question.......

but NOT the bed, the interior. i can't decide if i should line-x the floor and up the back to the window or not.

has anyone seen this done before? also ya think would it cause a problem if in the future i want to put carpet in?

I've seen it done on Jeeps.....seemed to work very well. I honestly thought about it too. I'd like to line-X the whole undercarriage to prevent the rust but I still don't think that would stop it in these trucks.

I bed lined the floor of my cab, but I do plan to put carpet back in. I dont think it would be a bad idea for trying to prevent rust if you do the underside as well.

I did the floors of a jeep I had with herculiner and I liked it. It stopped me from having to sand and repaint every 6 months. I never put the carpet back in because it was trashed but it would of gone right back in just fine. You do get more road noise and its hotter in the summer if that matters to you. I'd probably do it again and put the carpet back if it wasn't a mud truck or something.

in an area not seen or covered up, or underneath yea I would to at least try to stop or prevent rust. Now on the outside of the body, no freakin way unless it's in the bed.

Just do it your self. I have used this as a bed liner on a 86 4x4. It looks great. It can be used inside as sound deadning material. The best part is that its fairly cheap and something anyone can do if you have a compressor. Here's a link to the product.

If you have access to a compressor and can shoot the bedliner this stuff is real nice.http://www.tptools.com/p/2600,233_U-...Liner-Kit.html . The kit comes with the spray gun. We use the stuff all the time to coat the underside of the cars we build at work. Its also tintable meaning you can make it any color you want.

^^ yeah i don't have access to a compressor so me doing it is out of the question. there is a guy in town that does custom work that said if i bought all the stuff he would do it for $200 in just labor costs.

300 total aint terrible. Is he going to do the prep work? Or does he want 200 bucks just to spray it? You will need to grind the paint off the inside of bed for the bedliner to bite and actually last.
