Oil pressure line - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I pulled the engine trans and transfer case out and took my time rebuilding things. Well now that things are back in I cant find where the oil pressure line hook ups to. I have an eddlebrock performer manifold on it. Any ideas?

There is a spot on top of the motor just behind the distributer is where it goes. It's not on the intake but behind it. (V-8) WES

Should be a threaded port for it on drvs side directly behind intake next to the distributor it's small 1/4" or so

Small bock, hole in block directly behind the intake manifold, slightly toward the driver side of engine from center.

Big block, driver side of engine above the oil filter

Inline 6 cylinder- meh, Edelbrock didn't make a Performer for them so assume it's not a 6

They are all 1/8 npt threads

The guy who married my ex-wife told me I should leave this hole open so the crank case can breathe. Think he had some kind of nasty motive?

Kidding, of course. This is one of the standard spots for real oil leakage, in my greasy experience.

Yep, the guy who married my ex wife gets more hateful with me all the time. I think the reality is sinking in that she's not perfect and I wasn't as bad of guy as she said I was.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, ex-wives and oil pressure lines both can be a mess.

I tried the plastic oil pressure lines, but after many leaks I go with the metal ones.

As for ex-wives, I try to steer clear of them as much as possible, lol.

Thanks for the info. I found the spot. I thought it was at the back of the engine but I wasnt sure because the oil pressure line seems about a foot to long. Ill figure it out.

Coil the line so there is some flex as the engine moves a little

I just did it. What a pain in the a**. This one is a 72 Blazer with power everything and A/C. My last rebuild was a 69 Chevy C/10 no A/C, no power anything and 3 on the tree. This on is taking some time but its getting there. This will be my sons first vehicle, a gift from my wife. I still cant believe she gave it to him. I cant wait to see it on the road. He even bought some new ceramic coated Dougs for it. Thanks again for the info.

All set up and done. Ready to run tomorrow and off to the muffler shop tomorrow. Maybe Ill trade my Dmax for that on monday.
