Hey, yall, I'm new to this so bear with me. Anyway, I got this cool 84 gmc crew cab single axle and it originally came with a 454. Well the previous owner put a hopped up 350 and told me it needed a tune and carb adjustment. I did that and I can get it to run decent but the timing is probably off. I can probably get it in time later but another concern I have is that the original emissions stuff is all ripped out and was wondering if you would try get all the emission struff back on it or maybe upgrade to like a '95 motor and all the emissions stuff, wire harness, and computer. I know that from around 90-95 those engines seemed pretty uncomplicated. Well thanks any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Do you want to kep the carb or go EFI, do you need the emmisions stuff in Tx? 87 and up would be TBI, pretty nice good running system for FI. These are uncluttered and run well.

Emissions here pretty much states if it had it originally you cant remove it legally. And thats what I was thinking on those year model engines. My buddy's got a 93 and it looks really simple compared to all the crap that came out in 84. I guess they figured out a way to get better results with less crap. So anyway I was thinking if I put newer in, it would over and above originally epuip. I just don't know how hard it would be to graft in this system.

oh, yeah, I'd rather not fool around with a carb but i could if i absolutly had to.
