Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
I think it looks great the way it is. I would just drive the crap out of it if it were mine. Do you have a notch in the back as it is? You could go a 1" block in the rear, but I'm almost certain you would need a notch if you don't already have one. Any pics of the motor? Beautiful truck!

I agree, I like it the way it is. I think if you go another inch in the rear you have to c-notch it.

Dont... these trucks were designed to have a small rake, without the rake they dont drive as well. Ask a qualified alignment shop and they will tell ou the same thing. |

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
make a block & do a small pipe notch. cheap & easy.
I think it needs to come down a bit more in the rear also

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
I had the same thought about mine, I used coil overes and it did not sit as low as I had thought. I drove it around for a while with the rake and liked it but still wanted more.
The first pic is of it with the rake at about 4.5 front and 4.5 in the rear The second is of it lowered at the 4.5 front and 6 rear. still has a bit of a rake which I like. My advice is to make it the way you like it because you are the one who is going to have to drive it.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
I put 1 inch block on my 6 inch drop(making it 7 inch). My truck is not on the road yet, but it dont look like ill need a notch. I was prepared to put a notch in there from the beginning, but im going to try it and see what happens first. I think it would look a little better with a 1 inch block myself. You just have to ask yourself if it is worth putting a notch in if you have to. Truck looks awsome the way it sets to though!

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
Looks great! I say drop it more...from the looks of it, you might have to re-do your exhaust after the axel though...it's already right on the super trac bar as is. I recommend a c-notch too...bottoming out sucks.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
I knew that there was going to be more work on the exhaust when we put the 9" in,so we put a clamp at the rear of the mufflers

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
I think it looks great as it sits. It's all about what you want though. You also need to keep in mind that the springs will settle as you drive it. That's the good thing about blocks. If it's too much, just pull the blocks back out.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
Great looking truck.
Add a 1"-1.5" lowering block and a bolt in c-notch.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
If you go with a 7" drop, you will need a c-notch. I just dropped my truck 6.5" in the back, and it is only 1/2" from hitting the frame. It bottoms out routinely. I have a c-notch kit, just waiting on some time to install it.
I think your stance is perfect. I prefer a slight rake myself.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
If I remember correctly... on my 4.5/6" drop I was 2" from the frame rail and 4" from the top of the pumpkin to the bed floor. For me, 1" travel wouldn't be enough to separate me from good/bad ride.
What about bags? Change the level you need for fairly cheap.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
Trust me... once you go 4/6, then it's only "just" a few more inches, then it's bags, Dropmembers and then you're scrapping crust of the earth.

Re: 4-6 Drop>need to be lower<
Bags can easily replace the rear coil springs, and allow you to carry heavier loads, pull a trailer,... whatever.
Many members use them with just two air lines and two schrader valves. No way to scrape pavement, with this set-up,... but a very easy way to adjust your ride height. Add a small tank and a compressor and adjust the height from inside the cab.
