attaching side moulding question
Ok, so I have upper and lower trim to put on my truck. I was wondering what you guys have done to attach it without doing it the original way with holes and clips etc. Like what double sided tape stuff have you used that worked really good and easy and where do I get it? Thanks!

I used the 3M with the red backing. I used the original stick on molding clips with the new tape. I would still recommend drilling holes in the front and back and using the snap in clips in those. It not only makes the ends more secure but also makes it a lot easier to position the trim to stick it on. LockDoc

Re: attaching side moulding question
classic chevy trucks restoration parts have push in style clips so you don't have to deal with putting the nuts on to the threaded studs.they are nmetal just lke originals but just snaps into the holes..a xdefinate pain in the axx saver.part # is 62-891A for short bed trucks.but they have the kit for long beds also.

Re: attaching side moulding question
I definitely agree with LockDocs suggestion about making sure you have at least (2) fasteners per moulding. One at the leading edge and one at the trailing edge. Do the rest with the adhesive tape and if it was mine, I'd try to hit an adhesion point about every 6"-8" over the length of the moulding.
Don't be afraid to drill a hole or two to put the 'hard fastener' clips in. Just make sure you measure it up correctly and carefully...then after drilling, touch it up, paint it, then seal it with some grease when you put the fastener. That way you'll avoid the rust worm getting a hold. Good luck. Coley
