staggered tires on same size rims?
im looking into buying a set of impala ss wheels, (i know about the pictures thread) and i want to stagger my tire sizes with a 255-50 r 17 up front and a 275-55 r17 out back
does anyone have any pictures of trucks with staggered tires on any size wheels (same size on all four corners, in 15, 16, 17,18?) edit: my bad, i really just want to see trucks with same diameter wheels front and back with taller tires out back. the impala ss wheels are 17x8.5 and i want to put the above tire sizes on them. i dont really care if the wheels are any wider in the rear, but i do want to see taller tires in the rear. i hope that makes sense guys.

Re: staggered tires on same size rims?
I am running 17" rims on two trucks. With the lowering that I have, I chose 255/50/17 tires for the front and 275/50/17 tires for the back. On the 1984 truck, I went with a 9" rim width in the rear and a 8" rim width in the front. The 1991 truck the rims are all the same width (8"). The height of the tires could be a bit taller, but the combination is one that I can run without fear of hitting the fenders or bottoming out in any way.

Re: staggered tires on same size rims?
Are you looking for same "size" rim or same "width" rim? I am a bit confused. Most of the trucks on here are running the same diameter rim with staggered tire height. There are a small percent that are running 18/20 or 20/22.

Re: staggered tires on same size rims?
Look up boatpullers truck . He has 17x8 wheels all around with 275 rears and 235 fronts I think . It looks right .
Mine has 275/60/17 rear and 235/55/17 fronts but my wheels are 9.5"wide in the rear and 8"wide in the front. With a 275/55 rear the rear tire would be about an inch shorter which would probably look better . Frank
