Choke Thermostat
Does any body know where I can buy a new choke thermostat for my 1970 250 6 cylinder? The one I have works, it is just that the spring is very week! It looks just like the one in this link.

Re: Choke Thermostat
I have never seen the bi-metallic spring go bad in one of these chokes. If the spring pulls the choke mechanism downward you can reform the rod to shorten it and make it close the choke tighter. (On the V-8's the spring pulls downward to close the choke but I am unsure if on the 6 cylinder it works the same).

Re: Choke Thermostat
When mine broke (350) I bought a new one at my local NAPA. It was even in stock.
Edit: The bimetal spring broke. If yours is not replaceable and you need the assembly, ignore this...

Re: Choke Thermostat
Thanks for the input, The 6 cyl's choke t-stats are different than the V-8's, but you have a good point about the springs not going bad, although the 6 cyl one pushes up on the choke flap to close it, so as it heats up it comes down to open it. It might be binding or it might need a little adjustment, I will look at that. Thanks again for your input!
