lifting a 4x4
I heard that on the older chevys trucks ( 67-72) when you lift it , it's best to lift it through the springs and not block it. Do the blocks make it too unstable ? How much lift can I get by using spring lift and do you guys suggest the soft ride springs ? Thanx

I highly recommend the Softride springs. I'm running 8" Skyjacker softride springs on my truck. As far as blocks go, I don't think you are any more likely to have problems with the 67-72 than you would with any other rear. The taller the rear block, the more unstable it will become. Skyjacker and Superlift make up to a 12" lift for the 69-72 trucks. Any higher than that and you will have to have custom springs made. If your lifting a 67 or 68, you will have to have rear springs custom made regardless. Nobody makes rear lift springs for these 2 years. Hope this helps.........

There are spring rebuilding shops al over the place, and personally i've had great luck with them over arching springs and getting them sitting even.have also dearched them there for lowriders,i probably as a rule wouldn't go any more than + or- 3 inches this way though.hope this helps.

I had all my springs re-arched with an add a leaf, that gave me a total of 3 inches, all for $225
