New vinyl floor help!

I just got a new vinyl carpet kit from LMC. This is the full kit that covers all the way to the back.

I can't figure out what is the front or the back? I have an 84 CUCV M1028. This is the 4X4 reg cab pickup. I don't want to cut out the hole for the shifter only to find out I had it backwards.

Anybody have any ideas?

based on this page: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=120

It's either the end that is skinnier if its the Polyvinyl or if it's just the rubber floor mat on the top of the page, the front is the end that has the mounting holes farthest apart.

The Polyvinyl is what I got. It unfortunately doesn't look like the picture. Its more square. I will try and post some pics later.

Re: New vinyl floor help!

The other thing to do is to set it in the truck and try to match it to the low and raised spots where the seats sit. If it's anything like the carpet I ordered recently, it's hard to tell which end is which when in the house or garage, but once I put the carpet in the truck, it would only match the floor sitting one direction, so it wasn't possible to put it in backwards.

If there is a heel pad, then that is obviously the drivers side. The front appears to have an arch in the pic linked above, if that is the case, then that is the front and goes over the trans tunnel up against the firewall.
