***HELP***Has anyone bought a new door for 73-87 chev truck lately

Just wondering if anyone has bought a new authentic gm door.If so i would like to know the net weight off the shipping box.have came across some beautiful certified doors for 73-87 chev.have found that i can buy 6 of them for the price of 1 gm door and they fit great with no bodyfiller needed to smooth out the waves like the old reman's.they fall into the new manufacturing process ISO9002.but likely lighter weight though.if you have net weight for gm fenders to that would be great too,guys.just trying to figure out where a guy is losing on these aftermarket doors,they sound just like my gm ones when i tap on them.

FYI: ISO 9002 is not a manufacturing process, but it is a Quality Management System recognized internationally. ISO 9002 is ISO 9001 less the the design control (engineering) section. Actually ISO 9002 standard expires this year, being replaced by ISO 9001: 2000 The ISO 9002 quality system does insure that there is controlled manufacturing process used in producing the part, but it does not necessarily guarantee that its a quality product. You only assured that in building the product, some written instructions were used, the person building it was trained, and some inspection or testing was done, hopefully in meeting or exceeding your quality expectations. This information comes from an experienced former Quality Manager.

It still doesnt answer the big question of Oem door shell net weight.

AGREED!

I'll have to agree with Mitch, ISO is no indication of quality,
or any reason to pay more over a non-ISO certified part.
Often times, you pay more, just for the company's cost
of ISO compliance, and certification.
When I'm not playing with old trucks, I do the winter months
in a ISO "certified" factory, and I can tell you first hand, ISO
is nothing more than a "Marketing Tool" that lets a company
compete in a global market. It simply means " We make our
products just as crappy as the next guy, only we do it consistently,
and to a more controlled degree!" Nothing more
than a "New and Improved" label,
much like the old dish soap commercials! JMO!
If you feel that the doors might weigh less than GM doors,
there's the first clue that they are thinner guage, and cheaper
built. Thinner metal rusts through faster, and the fit
is usually poor also.
I know the price of new GM doors have skyrocketed in the
past few years, but .................
the 6 to 1 price ratio may be indicitive of the quality of these
doors, also. Just my .02!
