Guys with 80's pickups I need help...

I just picked up a set of early 80's black seatbelts to put in my '76, and after trying to install them I have realized they aren't gonna fit without drilling new holes.

Does anyone have an 80's pickup/cab that has no seatbelts in it right now so that I can see how far away the holes are from the weatherstripping??

If nobody else gets back before I can, I've got a bare cab in the shop and will take a pic tomorrow.

Re: Guys with 80's pickups I need help...

From what I can tell, the holes will still be on the raised portion of the floor. The only part that is going to suck is the right side is on top of the fuel tank. I was going to use a grade 8 nut and bolt with a large washer as a backing to keep it from pulling through. It looked like it is over an inch away from the original hole.

Re: Guys with 80's pickups I need help...

Here are the pics I just took. 1986, automatic, low hump, regular cab. First picture is drivers side. You can see that the floor is kinda flattened for the seatbelt mechanism and from the "lip" behind the flattened part, it is 4" on center from the pinch weld where the weather strip attaches to the seat belt hole. The hole is about 2" forward of the lip.

Picture #2 is the passenger side, dimensions are the same.

The hole on my '76 is 2 3/4" on center from where you measured, and my hole is located underneath where your tape measure is...
