Cup Holder!

I am sure this has been done so I thought I would ask you all, I want a Cup Holder in place of the Ash Tray, just using the stock Ash Tray face and get rid of the guts to the Ash Tray, But when Pulled out its cup holders. Anyone seen anything like this around or know what I maybe able to use in place of the ash tray.
Thanks in advanced

Brothers Trucks sells a kit to convert the stock ash tray into a cup holder.
Check out their site.

I really like your ideal, it is very creative and innovative, Great job! Your ideal alone should be immortalized in the Board FAQ for future reference. I look forward to a finished cupholder.

Re: Cup Holder!

Here it is in Year One's catalog. Upper right corner, there isn't a pic but sounds like the one that looks stock when closed. http://www.yearone.com/pco/C_0308/full.asp?page=48

Re: Cup Holder!

I used a kit from Wes (classic heartbeat) and then I changed it up such that I welded studs on the backside of my dash to bolt the assemble on, and also saved my ash tray face (67 style) and glued that onto the front of the new cup holder assembly.

Can't find pictures right now, but if you want pict, pm me so I don't forget. Got a lot going on right now, and I am forgetting small stuff...

Re: Cup Holder!

I got one from Kenny's Truck parts, in Tulsa. It is the metal one that I think you're asking about. You remove everything but the face and attach it to the cup holder parts. I haven't done mine, yet. But, acquiring the 2nd cab means I now have 2 ashtrays, so I can modify one and keep the other one stock. As you can see, the one that you use to convert you ash tray is from Old Air Products.

As for the wooden one, I have one in billet aluminum that I got at a rod shop. I didn't mount it, because I would have had to drill holes in the dash....and I'm somewhat of an anti-hole driller kinda guy.

Re: Cup Holder!

I bought a factory cup holder off of a 1994 chevy truck from ebay. Made a bracket, painted it all black and i"m pretty happy with it. Sorry about the blurry cell phone pics...and the dirty truck.

Why keep looking. I posted the link to it in the Year One catalog. Don't look at the picture of the wrong one. Look upper right hand corner with no picture but a description.

Re: Cup Holder!

I'm gonna see if I can adapt one of these to mount somewhere. It folds up into a 4"x4" square about a 1/2" thick.
