Junk yard find!

Hey guys, I was at my local scrap yard yesterday and I found a really good condition black interior. I'm switching my truck from blue to black and this will help big time!

The truck certainly doesn't look like there would be anything good in it but here are the pics! just goes to show you gotta look in every truck!

This truck also had the clock in it so I was happy bout that! I talked the guy down to 150$ to take the whole interior, he originally wanted $300. I think I did ok.

wow your a lucky guy no junk yard within 50k radius of me even keeps trucks this old they just crush them. the only one that did just got shut down by the government because a kid blew his hands of torching a gas tank!! bummer there was an 83 with a gorgeous brown interior and all i had time to get was the door skins next day boom!!

Re: Junk yard find!

yeah i heard he was in pretty rough shape.. sent 3 guys to the hospital.. hes only 20 to so he probably just finally got a job doing what he loves and now he wont ever be able to again.. but i guess thats what happens when not taking the correct safety precautions torching gas tanks. its a shame to cause it was a great junk yard.. damn government.. takes my taxes and my scrap yard!!

Yeah thats a shame! I think the government is getting involved with this place too, something about the disposal of chemicals or something...

Wow, you stripped it good!! It's nice to see original parts go to good use. Even the seats looks great!

Re: Junk yard find!

Yeah Definitely robbed it lol, I really wanted the seat seatbelts and dash, But I took it all anyway. saves painting my blue interior parts, and now I could always put the blue stuff back in if I want.

I definitely get joy from bringing dead parts pack to life, Dunno what it is but when I get all the parts home and give em some tlc I feel like I've given them a second chance lol

Thanks for the comments!!

Re: Junk yard find!

Very nice. I would go back for the steering column or at least the shift lever and controls.

How on earth did the truck get kinked in the middle like that? Nice score on the interior.

Re: Junk yard find!

I got the radio working in my truck last night. I'm definitely going back for that steering column. Its got tilt and my truck doesn't. The scrap truck also had the rear speaker mounts.... score
