Blazer Rocker Boxes will be reproduced...

Well after a long exhausting search we located a good set of Blazer Rocker Boxes.... We have already sent them off to the manufacturer and hopefully we will have new ones in 3 or 4 months!! So don't kill your Blazers and Jimmys if the rocker boxes are bad!! We will have replacements soon enough!! WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

You ought to mention this over at the first gen forum at www.coloradoK5.com - that's great news for blazer owners!

Well I guess they could look like sleds..LOL It is verry commen for these to be rusted out in the Blazers.. They provide support to the body when you have the top removed. If yours aren't rusted thats great, mine are nice under my Blazer also, but there are a lot of Blazers / Jimmys out there they are all but gone.. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Heck, if Wes can't own them all he might as well help save them all. Looking forward to the burb pieces and now my blazer could be saved.

I have long ago figured that I can't own them all.... LOL I am content to own my share though...Hehehe!! I could never figure out why these were not reproduced sooner though. There has been a pretty good demand for them for a long time. grnddwn, Where I use to work we made die stands out of 1/4" wall rectangular steel tubing. We had them welded up solid so nothing could get to the inside, yet somehow 4 or 5 years later they would rust through (from the inside).. Was it condensation? Who knows, but it still happened and only took no more than 5 years to do so. I also had a lumber rack made from tubing that somehow got water inside it also. Same thing, it was welded up solid also, but a couple of years after I bought it it froze one night and when it did the freezing water cracked the tubing. My point is, if you havn't drilled any holes in your tubing, you may want to think about it. That way the water that will always find a way into things can find it's way back out without creating it's own way. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I have heard through the grapevine that someone may be doing those soon also. I am not possitive though.. The problem I hear with those is the tooling is quite extencive, so even if and when they do them the parts may be too expencive.... We will see.. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Hey Wes I understand your concern about rust in tubing but my race car chassis is made out of the same stuff we used on my blazer and it hasn't rusted throught in 8 years although I don't haul any lumber with it. When I get some pics up of my blazer you will see it doesn't haul any lumber either. The new tubs are a good idea just remember why they didn't last in the first place.

Do you have to do much work to make a short side work? I am guessing all that you would need to do is hack off the front. Is the back wheelwell to end of bed the correct measurement?

You are correct Gee Emm, the back half is the same. You have to trim the fron down to match your Blazer, but they do work great. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Hey on those rocker boxes, how much of them is getting reproduced? Will it be a complete unit? Its kinda hard for me to tell what exactly they are supposed to look like.

Yes, if you get the rocker box end caps they will be the complete unit. They will be exact replicas of the origanals that GM put on the trucks to begin with. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

So the end caps will also be sold? Thats the part behind the door pillar? I am just curious as to whether I should start fixing those pieces up or buy them if they are available.

The rocker box end cap is the piece that is bolted to the rear of your rocker boxes. It sets at about a 45 degree angle. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
