gauge light q's
I've ran into a problem that has my brain racked. My oil press guage light bulb blew, but all the other guages still lit up. We pulled the bulb to check the number and ever since then none of the gauge lights work.
The oil and trans temp guages are aftermarket and wired in,fuses and every bulb other than the oil gauge is good. How are the guages not working now, but worked before? The generator and blinkers light up, just not the gauges. Could the headlight switch be bad? It still turns on my headlights Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: gauge light q's
I believe that the lights are wired in parallel so if one bulb blows the rest will work. The bulb socket completes the + and - sides of the circuit even though the bulb itself is blown so if you remove the socket you break the circuits and none of the bulbs will work. Get a new bulb and replace the socket and all should be well.

Well what would be the next step if the new bulb doesn't fix the issue, just incase.

Re: gauge light q's
my sockets needed cleaning with a scrub pad on a couple lights. The bulbs were good, but the sockets had a little corrosion/buildup on them. and the lights wouldn't come on.

Ok here's an update......
New headlight switch New bulbs Even put in an extra board I had No guage lights Now while checking fuses we found that the pnl connector had no power when keyed on. We checked the fuse box and no breaks in the wiring. Maybe someone has faced this before? Posted via Mobile Device |
