Getting rid of the crap...
What do you use to get rid of the years of build up on all the parts underneath???

Depending on what you're okay with getting wet, some cheap engine degreaser and a power washer works pretty good

Go the Dollar General store, and get some of their brand "oven cleaner".
Several on this forum have recommended it, so i tried it. Cheap and works great, cant' beat it.

if you don't have access to a power washer can you just pour water over it to rinse it off or do you absolutely need the power washer at full blast? My only other option is a coin op car wash

I spray all my crap, then drive it a few blocks to the coin op, works pretty well and the drive allows time for the stuff to soak in.

Yeah that stuff works great... Used some the othet day,$1.50/ can. It will screw up aluminum parts, keep that in mind

Engine is still in and I was going to spray under and around all that area to clean it up...
