Re: Fuel Injection?
It sounds as if you're looking for an add-on system, in which case I only know that they're dear.
As far as F.I. in general...I cannot believe the quantum leap in drive-ability that a MEFI 4 ECM based port fuel injection makes. Immediate start, level idle and constant self tuning with temp. changes, altitude changes and half dozen other variables. I'm just getting used my engine, still in green mode. There's nothing like plugging it into a lap top and knowing every detail of whats happening in your engine, temp, manifold pressure, throttle pos, timing, on and on. I'll never go back to a carb. system...and I'm pretty old school for the most part.

Re: Fuel Injection?
For the price of an aftermarket system, you can almost pay for a good used 5.3 or 4.8 setup, have more power and drivability, milage....

Re: Fuel Injection?
I've got the Edelbrock port injection on my 383 and it works pretty good. I have the 4 barrel model that is good up to 450 HP and I really like the throttle response and the fact I can adjust it while driving. I had a long training curve and it took me awhile to get it tuned right. Their Tech support is not the best.

Re: Fuel Injection?
I just fired up my straight six nova with megasquirt. I like it so far, but it has a steep learning curve but it more adjustable and cheaper than most other solutions. I have $1000 in my setup including the O2 gauge, relay box, and TBI injection unit.

Re: Fuel Injection?
I've used megasquirt in the past as well. Fantastic standalone puter. Does require fair amount of homework.........

Re: Fuel Injection?
I have been considering the EZ system for my 350, is it as EZ as they say it is and what about tunability? I have a stock cam but might go a step up some day.

Re: Fuel Injection?
yikes just found it on another thread, seems to be a good system but the kit is $2100, too rich for my blood no matter how good it is. I will just stick with my Edelbroke for now.

Re: Fuel Injection?
If i could somewhat jack the thread, what's a good multi-point, not throttle body, aftermarket efi system?
Criteria: Dependable easy-to-set up, understand, and adjust Suitable for dual tunnel ram manifold. What would you suggest the best way for someone to learn megasquirt? Assume the person has little to no knowledge of electronics or fuel systems and how they interact with each other. |

Re: Fuel Injection?
How much of a mpg change did any of you see when you switched from a carb?

Re: Fuel Injection?
I have the 4.8/4l60e in my 65, I love it, almost 2x the mileage ( was getting 8 with tired 350). starts everytime and was cheaper than a crate motor.
