Suburban Fuel tank
Has anyone used a suburban fuel tank in a 64 truck. Is a burban tank the same as a blazer tank. Any mounting pics would be great. Thanks for your help.

Re: Suburban Fuel tank
The Suburban tanks as a general rule are larger than the Blazer tanks. Some of them are 40 gallon capacity. If your truck is a long wheelbase, it may work, but you might have to move a crossmember. The only way to know for sure is to measure the Suburban tank. A couple other things to consider is, the sending unit is going to be 0-90 ohms versus the 0-30 ohms needed for the '64 gas gauge. Also the '91 Burb will be fuel injected, which means there is a EFI fuel pump in the tank. You may be able to change the sending unit/fuel pump for a earlier sender for a carbed engine, but it will still be 0-90 ohms. I don't know if a 0-30 ohms sender will fit the flange on that tank.

Re: Suburban Fuel tank
First I want to say Thank You for your reply. I have the tbi engine and I was thinking of using it in my truck project. Yes my truck is a long box, and I am thinking about doing custom gauges so I might be on the right track with this tank after all. I originaly was going to get a inline pump for the tbi engine then I thought I allready have one and I could ditch the in cab tank. I will crawl under there and do some measuring. I will post what I figure out on here.

Re: Suburban Fuel tank
Hey Captainfab I just noticed you are in Idaho. Is it as blasted cold over there as it is here this week. Man that cold air sure takes the fun out of wrenching.
