Post Transmisions

I have a 85 chevy C-30. I converted the manual transmision over to a turbo 350 automatic. I can not for some reason bolt the 85 automatic transmision flywheel to the 350 torque converter. I have been told I need to use a 400 torque converter so that it will bolt up to the 85 454 flywheel.
Please give any input you can. All will be very much needed.
