My side marker lights do not work, none of them, but all my other lights work! What should I look for?

First thing to do is check to see if you have a wiring harness and bulb sockets as the earlier trucks just used the reflectors with no wiring for lights.
If you do indeed have the wiring then check for voltage. Bad connection or blown fuse maybe a disconnected wire. When folks try and wire these trucks up for trailer lights they tend to hack up the wiring. This would be a good place to start also. Have Fun

In your sig it says you have a 1969 GMC, a good year
![]() But my '69 has the sidemarker lights, albeit improperly wired. I think that '69 was the first year for federally mandated side markers. I remember hearing/reading that somewhere, odds are your electrical syst. needs some help.

Actually, for cars, 68 was the first year for lights, and I think GM was just behinde the ball game and they were supposed to be on pick ups too...bit I can not prove that. (Kinda like the fact that the rear view mirror was still an option in 69 but was fed. mandated)
The side markers on these trucks were an option in 68 and 69, and in 70 they became standard. |

Yep, my 69 has no lights there either. Not even holes for lights.
It's alot of fun at inspection time! ![]()

My '69 doesn't have lights, or holes either. I think they might have started with the lights in late '69. Not sure.
