oil leak
So my buddy has a 3/4 ton ex cab 2001 we had it pulled over my pit in the garage trying to find the leak it is coming from what appears above the oil filter first thought is its the rear seal but their is what looks like a plate by the filter about 3x3 and 1/2 inch thick with a couple of bolts holding it on DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS just want to eliminate it as a pos suspect befor we rip things apart and don't want to replace whats not broke it could also be the pan leaking but not for sure

Re: oil leak
Directly above the filter is the oil cooler port, but its not 3" by 3" . Do you happen to have a picture of what you are talking about?
