Some pics

My 1968 C-20, CST, Camper Special, 50th.

Well, Original owner bought the truck, got t-boned, smashed the bed all to hell, traded it in back to the Chevy dealship, sat for a few days, grandparents walked in, grandpa saw it, ask "is the frame or rearend housing bent?" they said nope, he told em immediately, "Give me a deal on that truck." This all happened in 69-70.

Grandpa went home, found a bed for it for $100 and that's what's been on it since.

So! I figured I'd show some pics.

and one of the ol goat we've been buildin

Ahhh, a reverse longhorn goat. Nice. Is that a commercial shop your working on your truck in. What are the plans for the 68? Hope to see it next time I make it out to Palo Verde. Nice seats too.

Re: Some pics

Hahaha, Reverse Longhorn goat, that is a good one (:

Our house and shop are on 7 acres, the shop is 5k sq ft on the bottom, top is 2.5k.

I do small welding jobs for people here and there, and we do vinyl graphics on the other half.

As for plans for the 68, I'm gonna clean it up some more, make it worthy daily driven road warrior, doing all the brakes as we speak, wheel bearings, u-joints, carrier bearing. Then from there, put it all back together, put a loud stereo in it, save up for an overdrive and put it to use like a 3/4 ton long bed should be

Some day I would love to do a frame off, but some reason at 18 that doesn't seem that feasible. lol

Re: Some pics

eagleuh1, swing on by! I'd love to BS for awhile about these trucks, some reason everyone around here I know is into Ford...

o6r1man, yeah I'm "okay" with it... I was irritated that they guy painted over my harmonic balancer after it had been painted a real nice dark silver and painted my aluminum manifold...

Other than that, it's all good, well, and the big old nasty smudge marks in the valve covers...

Re: Some pics

Is it me or does the motor have the wrong year pan gasket on it? The motor you have has the dipstick on the drivers side and that gasket is for a pass side dipstick?

The gasket is ambidextrous, has it on both sides.

lol thanks oldblue, once I find a set of different valve covers I'm takin them PoS cork valve cover gaskets off, other than that, everything else is good

Re: Some pics

Sweet truck!!!!! Im 18 also. That motor looks good.

Good idea using felpro pan gaskets, take your time here (unlike me) and make it so it wont leak.
