Re: can u change a 69 front clip to.....

I think you just need the grill assembly, and the front bumper (because of the turn signals). Im pretty sure everything else is the same. I dont know that Ive ever seen this question. Usually its can I change to a 67 or 68?

Others will post pretty quickly if Ive missed anything.

Grille, hood latch, hood latch center support, bumper, outer bumper brackets and turn signal assemblies.

I didnt realize the hood latch and support were different. Told you someone would come up with the others. If Tx Firefighter says it you can take it to the bank.

Re: can u change a 69 front clip to.....

Aww, nothing too technical. I just powdercoated a whole bunch of them last year.

The difference in the hood latch is the orientation of the handle. One has the handle centered and the other is offset to line up with the hole in the inner grille.

71-72 latch. Notice the handle is offset toward the driver's side of the truck.

69-70 latch. The handle comes straight out...

The vertical latch support panel is shaped different in that the 69-70 has a scalloped shape on the front to nestle inside the center grille bar while the 71-72 has no scallop as the eggcrate grille of that era was virtually flat, lacking the raised center bar the earlier trucks had.

I actually ruined (in some people's opinion) a mint 70 model grille awhile back to convert it to 71-72 style.
