69 Chevy

Here is my 69 Chevy pickup with a GMC grille that has me a little confused. I plan on building this up in the next year but would like a little information on:

1. Which Transmission Came standard behind 350 SBC
2. Here is the VIN information:
1969 CHEVROLET C10 VI N DECODE/LOOKUP
C - CHASIS DESIGNATION = CONVENTIONAL
E - ENGINE DESIGNATOR = 8 CYLINDER
2 – GVW RANGE = 5200-7500 ¾ TON
4 – MODEL = PICKUP
9 – MODEL YEAR= 1969
Z – ASSEMBLY PLANT = FREMONT

MODEL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
C - CHASIS DESIGNATION = CONVENTIONAL
E - ENGINE DESIGNATOR = 8 CYLINDER
2 – GVW RANGE = 5200-7500 ¾ TON
?
04 – MODEL TYPE = CAB AND STEPSIDE PICKUP BOX

Re: 69 Chevy

You also have a 67 gmc front clip. Are you going back to a chevy clip?

Re: 69 Chevy

I will more than likely keep the same front clip unless there is a need to change it.

Re: 69 Chevy

that thing has had more parts swapping that you think... it's on a 1/2 ton chassis/suspention, and a short wheel base, not offered in 3/4 ton.
The base tranny was a 3 speed manual.

Re: 69 Chevy

Thanks i really appreciate all the information. i was hoping to have an original 67-72 truck but this one will have to do. Im just happy it has parts from the 67-72 and not any new model year parts. Is the 3 speed manual the tranny they refer to as Rock Crusher?

Again thanks for all the information its very helpful.

Re: 69 Chevy

there's no telling what frame is under there. All we see is a 67 GMC front clip (fenders hood grill) on a whatever year cab (we'll assume it matches the VIN?) with a 68 - 72 short step bed
