hehe.... that's Knuckleheads truck. One of THE coolest trucks that I know of. Take good care of that thing. It's a sweet looking ride. Best chop on an AD I've seen.

Can you explain how you did your chop! I am sure several of us are interested in that info because it came out so well.

Re: yup another 53 chevy

Well it's one of the easier trucks to do I believe we took 3 Inches out but for starters make sure the cab is braced before cuts are made them plan all your cuts mark everything out I cut this one below the back window that way the windows will all line up from the sides to the back and I put supports in by the windshield so I could cut the pillars out completely thos allows you to lay the windshield back and avoids having to cut across the roof anywhere then with the back window I widened it 12 inches to make it look like a big back window I think that helps the overall look and doesn't make the chop look as radical I'll see if I have any pics of the chop in progress

Sweet, I have always loved those trucks. My brothers and I have a 50 that was our uncles and I would love to bag it.

Re: yup another 53 chevy

its actually not body dropped ...i guess lol it just has a tci front clip and when i put it in i also did a z in the frame i think about 2 inches cause we wanted to suck the running boards to the bottom of the cab and moved the bed up as well but from factory if you clip the front and do a big c notch and modify the running board brackets it should lay flat on the boards with out touching cab mounts or frame under the cab

Re: yup another 53 chevy

what about if im running an s10 frame? I have an s10 i bodydropped, but i haven't built a AD truck yet, i just bought one and just bought a longbed s10 and want mine to lay flat like that, like i said i haven't done one or even started yet. just trying to get as educated as possible before i start.

Re: yup another 53 chevy

Personally I think I would use the stock frame you won't have to deal with cab mounts and all that just install the mustang II kit with bags it looks really clean when it's all done and works pretty good but If you do install that kit from tci make sure you move it back 3/4 of a inch from where they say to install it otherwise you wheels will not be centered in the front wells I know the s10 frame will work I personally have never done one that way but as long as you measure everything and make your cab mounts it should work just fine and still lay body stock frame Hight is 6 inches and the frame on this truck is 1/4 inch from the ground you should gave plenty of room for the s10 frame and still lay the boards out
