What year did they go to 12 volts?
I'm thinking about getting a 53 or 54. When did the voltage change?

I believe Chevrolet went to 12V with the 55 Second series. Some second series 55 GMC's were still 6V.

1955 2nd series is when it changed to 12 volt system
