1967 GMC power steering conversion

I have a 1967 GMC 3/4 ton with 8 lug drum brakes, non power assisted brakes, and manual steering. I'm swapping the complete 5 lug disc/ drum suspension minus the crossmember and leaf springs from a 1974 Chevy 1/2 ton truck. I also have the power steering gear box from the 1974 Chevy 1/2 ton truck. I have the frame dimple worked out already.
My question is, do I use the 1974 Chevy 1/2 ton PS pump, hoses, and ps engine mounting bracket. Can I use the ps engine mounting bracket from a 1974 Chevy truck without modifying it and without modifying my set up which is the alternator on the left side. I believe I need a three groove pulley from a big block, not real sure on that part either.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: 1967 GMC power steering conversion

from the best i can remember:
for the box you can use anything into the '80's. its just a matter of what hose your going to use. i think there are at least 3 different styles maybe more. all the variations in hose conversions are available.there are differences in the rag joint also.

here's my conversion story- i chose a quick ratio box from the late '70's that was supposed to use the same hoses the same everything. not so. 67-72 use inverse flair fittings, this box used something else. maybe "o" rings? this box also had standard threads. i hear that some went metric.i found the adapters to use. once i got everything together for the swap most stuff just bolted in. other things needed fitting. nothing major at all. i did my swap on the cheap so i had to trust the zbay sellers description of the parts. for the hoses and other easy to obtain items i just bought new.

no on using the 74 ps pump brackets, as I believe the 74 and later engines use the long next water pump and this puts the belts closer to the rad. So if you current engine has a short water pump, you will need to find the correct brackets from a short pump set up.
