radio light

I finally got the radio in my '72 to work. The only thing left is the light behind the dial. The truck manual that I have says that the lamp is located at the right rear of the radio. I cannot feel anything back there. Is there a wire attached to the lamp or does it have one of those quarter turn lamp holders? I can see the right side of the radio since I removed the glove box and don't see the lamp there.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Kent

I'm not sure about the AM/FM Radios. However, if it's an AM Radio, you follow the brown wire that goes around the outside / side of the radio, and goes into a "button" type deal in the back of the radio. Grasp this round metal deally, and pull it straight out the back of the radio. The light bulb is on the end of the "tube like" holder you just pulled out.

Darren,
Thanks for the info. It is an AM radio. Will I have to pull the radio out to get at this light?

Thanks for your help,
Kent

fatfords,
Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm just getting into this truck thing, and my 67 didn't have a radio in it. I just bought one (A Radio).
It is on my workbench right now. I was cleaning up the radio when I noticed this light thing.
You can probably change the bulb with the radio in the dash. You will just have to lay on your back, and try to reach up behind the heater and radio to do it. Maybe it's helpful to have a flashlight and one of those mirrors on the end of an extendable rod to see what your goal is.
Good luck.
