That Darn Bob
-
I bought these wheels off of Bob (Bob 68327), now I need to lower the truck some more. It’s all his fault (that’s what I told the wife anyway)….. He told me I would need at least 215/70/15’s on the front and he is right. My local salvage yard had these 215/65/15’s on the rack and told me I could try them to see how they looked. I think it needs the 70’s and still may need to be dropped a little more… What do you guys & gals think? Thanks for your input. LockDoc

Re: That Darn Bob
I recently bought 225x60x15's for the front. They looked to small in my opinion and ended up and bought 245x60x15's. I have a 2/12 drop on front and 4" drop on the rears.
Fronts 245x60x15's Rear 275x60x15's

Re: That Darn Bob
I gotta say it looks pretty good. I've always been a big rim, fender filling tire buff, but lately I'm starting to like the look of some space around the wheels, especially in the front, kind of a gasser truck look.

Re: That Darn Bob
I think the wheels look GREAT with your truck! And I agree with you. A larger tire in the front and an inch or two lower on BOTH the front and rear (to keep the rake) would be AWESOME!!!

It needs to be lower and those rear pipes need trimmed before you trip over them..

Re: That Darn Bob
One thing to consider...the tire manufacture might determine the size of tire that you can select. I went with BF Goodrich because I wanted the old school look and the 275x60x15 is as large as they go in a 15" tire. In 16" you are really limited.

Thanks for all of the input so far. I appreciate it. These are 215/65/15 front on 7" rims & 275/60/15 rear on 10" rims. OK I'll get the Sawzall out FRENCHBLUE.....I put new exhaust on just before I went to the All Truck Nats last year and bought the tips on the way down there, so didn't have any way to cut them off. Re: That Darn Bob
I would leave the height of the truck and go with a little taller tire up front. We just put tires on my wifes truck. Went with 225 70 15 up front and 275 60 15 rear and it filled the wheel wells nicely. Not as nice as the old N 50 15 that were on back... I will post up a pic if you like.

Re: That Darn Bob
The transformation from the N 50 15 to 275 60 15. And i double checked the fronts and they are 225 70 15. The drivers front tire is in a low spot so the truck looks tipped a little. This is stock ride height.
Sure like your 67...

Re: That Darn Bob
Leon,
I LIKE that truck! I may be biased however Bob (if that is his real name) sold me some steelies and seeing what it did to your truck I'm thinkin' I had better get some springs before I put 'em on. Just to be safe I would like to see more of your truck... got any more pics? Cheers, D'Cat

Re: That Darn Bob
Told Ya the 65's were too short..... Put taller tires on the front and 2'' springs and I think it will be just right . Glad you blamed it all on me Hope Pat's not too mad at me . I like the way they look on your truck .. Your welcome for causing you trouble Bob PS DesertCat I'm pretty sure i didn't sell you any wheels unless you secretly live in Newton, Iowa and your name is Jay???
Your rear tires are 275/60/15 not 70's unless you changed them ..
