Re: LMC fuel tanks

i'd go back to a factory tank but thats just me... check out rockauto. they have some of the best quality parts at the cheapest prices.

my experiences with LMC have been subpar at best. and thats putting it as nice as possible

Re: LMC fuel tanks

when i did my tanks a couple of years ago i went with the ones at Advanced Auto.. they were cheaper than all others i found and thus far are holding up real well... I also ordered the straps from them, and i printed out the thing on their web site because in store was cheaper than online... and it was free shipping to store

Re: LMC fuel tanks

I run an LMC tank in my plow truck, going on 2 years with no problem. I was ordering some other stuff too so I threw one on the order form. I've never had any problems with LMC. Guess maybe I've been lucky.

Re: LMC fuel tanks

I got my tank from O'Reillys, was a perfect match and have not had any issues with it. Anything Advance has O'Reillys has and vice verse. You can also pit them against each other in a pricing war, as each will say they 'price match'.

Not sure it is just luck, I have never had any problems with LMC , and when there is a mistake in one of my orders they bent over backwards to fix it. As it turned out the mistake was on my part. I have been using them for over 10 years.

Re: LMC fuel tanks

When I did mine, just about all the major stores had them. I went and ponied up a little more and went with a poly tank. Now it's only the sending unit that's going to rust out.

I am still running my tank that I got from LMC back in 2001. I coated it good with a undercoating.

Re: LMC fuel tanks

I recently did a lot of research on this. As has been stated, you can get the tanks at the auto parts stores for a pretty good price. They all have them. You can also find them on ebay. If I remember correctly, they are from just a few suppliers, so you can get the same tank in different stores. If I'm not mistaken, LMC and the others offer the same tank. You can even get the fuel tank straps from the auto parts stores--I got mine from Oreilly's and the quality is comparable to the originals.

What I always do for all my parts is look online at Advance, Autozone, and Oreilly's. I check the prices, go to one, and tell them to match the price. Never fails. The websites are pretty good. I'm not one of those guys that knocks the auto parts stores, they all have something good to offer.
